Vistoso Helpful Hands is an all-volunteer group of dedicated residents, available to provide temporary help (3 weeks or 12 visits) in a crisis (non-emergency) situation, providing the following: transportation, animal care, care giver relief, errands, handyman and light housekeeping/yardwork, paperwork organization and client call check. SCOV Loan Room – provides many items of community service for residents. Many of the items are very useful after a surgery or other temporary issues like visiting grand-children. Items can include mobility devices like walkers and wheelchairs; miscellaneous medical devices like bed rails and cushions; bathroom accessories like shower seats and toilet risers; beds; chairs; tables; etc.
SCOV The Active Health Committee – Develops and recommends a variety of opportunities and information that promote successful aging. This includes community presentations, a Recommended Reading list, and a panoply of local Support Groups. Some of these are the SCOV Brain Health Circle, the Cancer Support group, Caregivers with Loved Ones with Cognitive Loss, Diabetes Support Group, Grief Support, Support Group for the Visually Impaired, the Natural Health and Wellness Club; (2) and also references to the Extended Community support groups like AA, Parkinson’s Support, Survivors of Loved Ones Who Have Died by suicide, Vistoso Helpful Hands, and Al-Anon.
